COPING WITH SUMMERTIME PESTS

Summer is on its way (or so we are told) and the downside of the higher temperatures and swaths of suncream is that it also brings with it an increase in problem pest activity. Such as:

  • Ants
  • Wasps
  • Flies and Bugs

As a responsible pest control company were constantly responsive to calls regarding nesting insects, in homes, around the garden, etc.

Wasps

With the effects of climate change being felt on a global scale, it’s no surprise that it has a dramatic effect on the activity period of certain pests, a wasps active period, for instance, has been starting progressively earlier every year, resulting in them having a longer breeding season, culminating in them having the ability to produce larger nests.

Wasps themself pose a very real danger, not just through their painful stings, but there is an even more real danger and that faces sufferers of sting allergies that can have serious adverse reactions to these stings.

Our goal is always to arrive promptly and to remove the nest as quickly and safely as possible, it is normal afterward to still see stray wasps for a few days in the aftermath of removal, but with no nesting area they ultimately eventually die off.

Flies

Flies are a pesky and constant problem, that isn’t just in summer, nevertheless, when the temperature heats up then the fly’s activity levels are significantly increased, they can start to appear everywhere. This isn’t limited to something like the common bluebottle flies but can include tiny drain and fruit flies that can rapidly spread disease and bacteria throughout the home.

A small problem with flies can quite quickly be a big problem with flies, as they can take over entire sections of your property at an alarming rate. We don’t operate a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to fly problems, we need to ascertain where they are coming from, what drew them to the location and then to ultimately eradicate them.

No matter how bad it can be, our team of experts will provide you with a gold standard of pest control care and control, and stop this problem.

Ant Problems

With the approach of summer, that means garden picnics! That might sound idyllic but not as much when you have an uninvited squadron of ants wanting to share your delicious food. The increase in temperatures is when the colony begins to look for sources of sustinence to take this nutrition back to their nest, which can be a big problem not just while you are enjoying your garden picnics but more distressfully when they decided to enter your property or take up temporary residence.

Having dealt with hundreds of cases of ant infestations and problems we are expertly equipped to deal with such problems when they arise, we have two methods that excel when dealing with ants.

1, Can the nest be located, this is done with a visual inspection, we would then apply an effective insecticide into the nest, ultimately destroying the colony.

2, If the nest cannot be directly found, then we will leave a bait that will attract the ants and when this is taken back to the nest it will quickly spread like a disease through the colony destroying it.
