Mice aren’t as cute as the cartoons will have you believe, they pose a very real and immediate health and safety risk. When the colder weather sets in then mice, rats and other rodents take to the confines and warmth of indoors, which is when problems arise. 

They are not only an irritation and general inconveniences, but they also pose a very real threat to property, rats and mice, for example, have a constant need to gnaw and bite in order to keep their teeth at bay and this can cause them to eat through power cables and appliances. They permeate the home through cracks and holes and any means necessary.

1- Mouse droppings, This is one of the telltale signs of a mouse problem.

If you have no idea you have a mouse problem, then this sign is a massive red light, once you start to notice them you want to act immediately and get ahead of any problem you are facing.

2-Scratching noises – Another big red flag hinting towards an infestation is the scratching and clawing noises they produce in the night time, they are nocturnal creatures so their activity is much greater at night time. Listen for noises between cavity walls, under floorboards and between wall panelling. 

3-Strong smell – The urine of mice and rodents is incredibly pungent, 

They will often and repeatedly urinate making this odour stronger and stronger, so much so that even after a successfully dealt with an infestation the smell can linger. 

4- Visibility, Just as you are getting to relax in the evening, there’s nothing that will alert you more than a scuttling mouse darting across the floor, if that isn’t a telltale sign of a problem then what is?!

5- Gnawing or bites on cables, as previously mentioned if you spot this, please act soon, it could cause irreparable damage to your property not to mention potential fire hazards this could produce.
